Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and its members are attempting to raise $1.5 million to aid flood victims in the Midwest.
Some of the money will be distributed in Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha Counties.
The goal is to raise $1 million from Thrivent members, with $500,000 coming from the organization itself.
Half of the disaster relief will be distributed through Thrivent regional offices. The rest will go to two Lutheran agencies, Lutheran Disaster Response and WELS Committee on Relief.
Thrivent, which has headquarters in Minneapolis and large operations in Appleton, is a non-profit financial services organization.
