Road construction in Northeast Wisconsin is resuming this morning after the Independence Day weekend.
Updates from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation:
Brown County: Dousman Street in Green Bay is closed between Military Avenue and Platten Street through August for reconstruction; the detour is Military Avenue, Shawano Avenue and Oneida Street. The Wisconsin 172 project between U.S. 41 and Airport Drive includes replacement of the median asphalt shoulder along 172 and the left shoulder of all ramps, with traffic reduced to one lane.
Door County: The Oregon Street Bridge project in Sturgeon Bay is continuing through September. Bridge leaves are down during construction through July 15, with one leaf raised weekdays at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m., and both leaves raised from Fridays at 4 p.m. to Mondays at 7 a.m. Third Avenue between Oregon Street and Jefferson Street in Sturgeon Bay is now open, but lanes may be closed for completion of the project. Deck sealing is taking place over the next two weeks on two bridges on Wisconsin 42/57, at Green Bay Road and on the Bayview Bridge in Sturgeon Bay.
Florence County: The Wisconsin 139 project between Long Lake and the Wisconsin–Michigan state line is continuing through late July.
Fond du Lac County: Paving of the U.S. 151 bypass between Wisconsin 175 (Main Street) and Fond du Lac County D may be complete by the end of the week. The U.S. 41 resurfacing project between 151 and Fond du Lac County OO, including reconstruction of the 41/Wisconsin 23 (Johnson Street) interchange, includes daily lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Manitowoc County: The U.S. 10/Wisconsin 310 project between the Branch River and Manitowoc County R begins this week, with 10/310, including the Interstate 43 interchange, closed. The detour route is Manitowoc County P, County R, 310 and 10. The 43/10/County JJ exit south of the 10/310 exit is the alternate exit. U.S. 10 (Eighth Street) in Manitowoc is closed between Madison Street and Washington Street for reconstruction through August. Wisconsin 310 (Madison Street and 16th Street) in Two Rivers is being reconstructed, with Madison Street closed between 14th Street and River Street, and 16th Street closed between Monroe Street and Washington Street. The detour is Columbus Street, Wisconsin 42 (Memorial Drive) and 16th Street.
Marquette County: Wisconsin 23 is being reconstructed from Marquette County M to Eighth Drive, including a new bridge at Ox Creek and a new cattle pass under 23. On July 14, 23 will close between County M and Ninth Avenue, with the detour Interstate 39/U.S. 51, Wisconsin 21 and Wisconsin 22.
Oconto County: U.S. 41 traffic is scheduled to be rerouted onto new pavement from Oconto County S near Oconto east for five miles around July 14, weather permitting. Oconto County J between Brown Road and Lilac Road in Little Suamico will be reconstructed beginning this week, with J closed beginning around Wednesday. Bridge deck sealing is taking place this week on Wisconsin 22 over the Little River, Wisconsin 32 between Morgan and Doty, Wisconsin 64 between Bagley and Doty, and U.S. 141 between Little Suamico and the Town of Lena.
Outagamie County: The Wisconsin 76 reconstruction project between Wisconsin 54 and Bear Creek continues this month, with the detour for Embarrass River and Bear Creek bridge construction 54, U.S. 45 and 76. The Wisconsin 96 (Wisconsin Avenue) project between U.S. 41 and Lynndale Drive will include the closing of the 41/96 interchange Tuesday. Nightly lane closures are taking place at Westhill Boulevard and Bluemound Drive, including the left-turn lanes from Wisconsin to Westhill and Bluemound. Wisconsin 55 (Crooks Avenue) in Kaukauna is closed through November for reconstruction, with the detour Wisconsin 96, Outagamie County N and County CE.
Shawano County: The Wisconsin 22 Embarrass River bridge is being replaced, with 22 closed (except to local traffic) between Wisconsin 156 and Wisconsin 29 through August. The detour is Wisconsin 156, Shawano County K and 29. U.S. 45 is being resurfaced between Wisconsin 29 and the Shawano–Langlade county line through late October.
Waupaca County: The Wisconsin 22/54 Waupaca east bypass project between U.S. 10 and 22/54 is continuing through Aug. 15, including a roundabout on the new 22/54 between Godfrey Drive and Royalton Street. Wisconsin 22 will close between Wisconsin 156 and Lake Wagner Road from July 14 through late August for resurfacing. The detour is Wisconsin 156, Shawano County K and Wisconsin 29.
Waushara County: Interstate 39/U.S. 51 southbound is being resurfaced between Coloma and Plainfield, with traffic restricted to one lane at 55 mph between Tuesday at 5 a.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m.
Winnebago County: The Wisconsin Street bridge project in Oshkosh is continuing through October, with Wisconsin Street closed between the Fox River bridge and Pearl Avenue. Pearl Avenue is scheduled to be closed Tuesday through Aug. 6. The U.S. 45 four-lane project is continuing, with 45 closed between Winnebago County II in Winchester and County GG in Winneconne through August. Wisconsin 44 is closed in Oshkosh between South Park Avenue and the Fox River bridge. South Commercial Street in Neenah is closed between South Park Avenue and Lyon Drive through August; the detour is Winnebago County G, Schultz Drive, Enterprise Drive, Industrial Drive and Bell Street.
