Six projects at four Northeast Wisconsin airports have been approved, according to news releases from Gov. Jim Doyle’s office.
Two of the projects are at Outagamie County Regional Airport in Grand Chute — a $3.31 million expansion to the main terminal ramp and the air cargo ramp, and $2.24 million on the airport’s new general aviation area, work on which began in 2007. The state is contributing $2.93 million to the two projects, while Outagamie County is contributing $945,000. The Federal Aviation Administration is contributing $1.68 million to the general aviation project.
Two of the projects are at Manitowoc County Airport — a $605,000 taxiway reconstruction project, and $50,000 to realign the airport’s existing security fence.
The state has also approved a $129,486 project to complete final design of a new 6,000-square-foot terminal building at the Fond du Lac County Airport, and $192,623 for a land purchase to expand the primary runway at Sheboygan County Memorial Airport.
