Clintonville manufacturer Schutt Industries has landed a $25.4 million contract from the U.S. Army to make flat-bed trailers used to haul equipment, company President and CEO Jim Schutt said today.
Work on the contract, to make up to 2,500 trailers, is to begin in October, and will last through 2011, Schutt said. The company, which has 140 employees, will likely hire around 10 additional employees to help with the expanded workload, he said.
