23 to be closed at 41 for bridge removal

Brown County: Wisconsin 172 is reduced to one lane in each direction between Airport Drive and U.S. 41 for its resurfacing project. Portions of the 172/41 interchange will be closed weeknights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Aug. 1. Pavement is being laid this and next week on Brown County JJ (Eaton Road) from Manitowoc Road to Brown County EA (Cottage Road). The JJ detour is Interstate 43, Mason Street and County EA. Pavement is also being laid this week on Dousman Street between Military Avenue and Platten Street. The Dousman detour is Military Avenue, Shawano Avenue and Oneida Street.

Door County: Traffic on Wisconsin 57 will be restricted to one lane from one-half mile south of Cloverleaf Road to one-half mile north of Wisconsin 42/Door County MM through Aug. 1. Cloverleaf Road will be closed during that portion of the 57 project. Four-lane traffic will be restored on 57 July 25 at noon. One of the two leaves of the under-construction Oregon Street Bridge in Sturgeon Bay will be open for ship canal traffic July 22–23 at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. Between July 24 and Aug. 15, the bridge will be open continuously for commercial vessels and open for recreational vessels at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m.

Fond du Lac County: Traffic is now driving the new Wisconsin 23 eastbound overpass over U.S. 41. The old 23 westbound overpass at 41 will be removed beginning this week, with 23 closed at 41 Monday and Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. The DOT recommends finding alternate routes because “major backups” are expected.

Kewaunee County:
Traffic on Wisconsin 57 will be reduced to one lane one-half mile north and south of Macco Road through Aug. 1 for reconstruction of the 57–Macco Road intersection; Macco Road will be closed as well.

Manitowoc County: U.S. 10/Wisconsin 310 remains closed between the Branch River and Manitowoc County R through August. The detour is Manitowoc County P, R, 310 and 10. The Interstate 43/10/310 interchange is also closed; the detour is 10 (Waldo Boulevard), R and P or 310. The U.S. 10 project in Manitowoc continues, with Eighth Street closed between Madison Street and Washington Street.

Marinette County: U.S. 41 traffic will be moved onto new pavement between Marinette County W and County Y on Wednesday, depending on weather. After that, removal of the old 41 road between County W and County Y will begin. Traffic on 41 between Y and Haynes Road is reduced to one lane.

Oconto County: U.S. 41 traffic is now on the new northbound lanes between Mill Street and Marinette County W.

Outagamie County: The U.S. 41/Wisconsin 96 interchange will be closed Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. to complete asphalt paving.

Sheboygan County: Sheboygan County V is closed from Wisconsin 57 to Sheboygan County I until mid-September. The detour is County I, Sheboygan County N, Wisconsin 28 and Wisconsin 57.

Winnebago County: Crews are doing demolition work on U.S. 41 between U.S. 45 and Wisconsin 21 as part of the 41 expansion project between Breezewood Lane and Wisconsin 26, which begins in 2009. In the U.S. 45 four-lane project, Oakridge Road and Grandview Road will be closed at 45 for approximately two days for paving of the new road.
