Neenah Paper gives gift to Natural Heritage Corps

The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin’s professional AmeriCorps program, the Natural Heritage Corps, recently received a big boost from Neenah Paper, Inc.

The company made a three-year commitment with a gift that will support the Foundation’s “boots on the ground” land management and conservation program.

In presenting the gift, Rodger Ferguson, Director of Environmental Services for the company, noted a shared commitment to protecting Wisconsin’s natural treasures. “Neenah Paper is proud of its Wisconsin roots and we are pleased to support the work of the Natural Resources Foundation,” said Ferguson.

The Natural Heritage Corps program puts college graduates in the field to help protect, promote and restore natural landscapes throughout Wisconsin. In addition to helping train the next generation of professional conservationists in Wisconsin, Neenah Paper’s gift will support conservation efforts throughout the state, with an emphasis on the Chiwaukee Prairie State Natural Area near Kenosha.

“The Foundation’s work developing conservation professionals will help ensure that Wisconsin’s public lands, waters and wildlife will continue to be protected and promoted for years to come,” said Ferguson.

David Clutter, director of the Natural Heritage Corps program, appreciates Neenah Paper’s gift to the Foundation. “Their gift strengthens our program and demonstrates their commitment to protecting the natural treasures that make Wisconsin such a great place to live,” said Clutter. “We are grateful for their support.”
