Aurora Health Care has agreed to pay $250,000 in penalties, fees and other costs in a settlement with the state for allegedly violating state air pollution control laws.
The alleged violations occurred at facilities Aurora built and operates in Brown, Manitowoc, Winnebago, Washington and Kenosha counties, according to the Wisconsin attorney general’s office.
The complaint, filed at the request of the Department of Natural Resources, alleged that Aurora failed to obtain air pollutant source permits for several of its facilities and violated emission limits and other air pollution control requirements at some of the facilities.
The alleged violations included not conducting stack tests of the emissions from generators at the facilities and not filing reports and test results in a timely fashion.
The settlement was approved by Dane County Circuit Judge Shelley Gaylord.
