Flooding update: Flood warnings until 1 PM

Flood warnings remain in effect for the Fox River near Berlin and the south branch of the Rock River in the Waupun area.

A Flood Warning is also in effect for Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Marquette counties until 1 p.m.

The Fox in Berlin was at 15.02 feet, above flood stage of 13 feet. It is expected to crest at 15.3 feet Wednesday. Flooding is also expected this week on the Fox between Berlin and Oshkosh as water from Thursday's heavy rains flows upstream toward Lake Winnebago.

The South Branch of the Rock in Waupun was at 6.89 feet at 4 a.m., above flood stage of 6 feet. The Rock hit its record height of 10.07 feet Friday, but has been dropping since then.

Wisconsin 23/73 (Main Street) in Princeton is closed between West Water Street and East Water Street due to Fox River flooding, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Officials are particularly concerned about damage to dams from high water. The Gothic Mill Pond dam in Ripon (bottom photo) had several breaches Friday due to high water. The Green Lake dam will be receiving water from Silver Creek in Ripon to the east (top photo) and from the south after a Fox River dam in Pardeeville failed this past weekend.

The Federal Emergency Management Administration will be in Winnebago County assessing flood damage today.

Flooding has forced the closing of the Fond du Lac post office until further notice due to the foot of water in the post office. The Postal Service has set up a temporary facility at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds.
