Disaster recovery microloan program offered in Fond du Lac County

To assist small businesses with flood recovery efforts, the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corp. has established a Disaster Recovery MicroLoan Program.

Small businesses that suffered damage from the recent flooding in Fond du Lac County, as well as the portion of the City of Waupun located in Dodge County, are eligible for up to $5,000 in the form of a low-interest loan for their recovery efforts through the DRMP. The approval process will be streamlined to assure quick responses and distribution of funds. The loan terms will be up to 24 months at an interest rate of 4 percent.

Funds can be used for activities directly related to and necessary for the recovery efforts of the business including rent; monthly operating costs; architecture and engineering costs; purchase of furniture, fixture and equipment; inventory; building improvements such as mechanical systems, plumbing and electrical repair; and other items as determined appropriate.

Applications are available at the FCEDC Web site at http://www.fcedc.com/businessowner.html or during regular business hours at the FCEDC offices at 140 N. Main St. in Fond du Lac (the Fond du Lac Police Department building). Completed applications and all required documentation should be submitted to FCEDC, 140 N. Main St., P.O. Box 1303, Fond du Lac, WI 54936 or emailed to info@fcedc.com.

Any questions can be directed to FCEDC at (920) 929-2928 or info@fcedc.com. All loans will be awarded to eligible applicants while funds are available. No application will be reviewed or presented for approval on behalf of an individual or entity that is delinquent in their municipal or county property taxes.
