Three of Fortune 1000 in Northeast Wisconsin

Three companies on the 2008 Fortune 1000 are headquartered in Northeast Wisconsin:
Wisconsin is the home of 10 Fortune 500 companies and 24 Fortune 1000 companies. The largest company in the state is Johnson Controls of Milwaukee, which ranks 72nd.

Texas passed New York for headquartering the most Fortune 500 companies, 58 vs. New York's 55; California has 52 to place third. Eleven states -- Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming -- have no Fortune 500 companies headquartered in their states.
